Using dental floss should be a part of your oral hygiene regimen. Because cleaning between your teeth is hard to do by brushing alone, other methods need to be used. Even though there are many types of interdental tools for cleaning between teeth, including water flossers, the many people opt for dental floss.

Always clean between every single tooth, including your back teeth. Gently wrap the thread around a tooth in the shape of the letter “c” and gently move it back and forth. If your floss ever shreds, you may need to upgrade to a more durable brand.

Make sure you use floss that has been approved by your dentist or features the ADA Seal of Acceptance. The seal ensures that the dental floss has met the safety and effectiveness guidelines established by the American Dental Association.
